Specialists at the K. I. Skryabin Moscow State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology are developing a digital platform that will make it possible to predict the risk of infectious disease outbreaks even before the first clinical cases occur. The project is intended to improve the effectiveness of preventive measures and enhance the epizootic monitoring system.
The platform's first module focuses on highly pathogenic avian influenza. In its analysis, the system will take into account the genetic characteristics of the pathogen, the current epizootic situation, and possible routes of infection spread. Integrated processing of these data will make it possible to assess the likelihood of new disease outbreaks in advance and take the necessary measures to prevent them.
In the future, the developers plan to expand the platform's functionality. Its capabilities are expected to be used not only to forecast the epizootic situation but also in the development of new veterinary biologics.
The development of such digital technologies opens up new prospects for veterinary medicine. The use of modern data analysis methods can improve the prevention of infectious diseases, strengthen veterinary safety systems, and enable faster responses to potential epizootic threats.
