Composition

One vial contains 1000 mg of amoxicillin as the sodium salt and 200 mg of clavulanic acid as the potassium salt. No excipients.

Indication

The product is used in dogs and cats for bacterial infections of the skin, urinary tract, upper and lower respiratory tract and gastrointestinal tract caused by microorganisms susceptible to the amoxicillin/clavulanic acid combination.

Administration

Dissolve the vial contents in 20 ml of water for injections. Administer intravenously to dogs and cats: by infusion to both species, by bolus only to cats. Recommended dose is 12.5–25 mg/kg by the sum of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid, 3 times daily; the treatment regimen is determined by the veterinarian.

Contraindications

Do not use in animals with hypersensitivity to the components, penicillins or cephalosporins, or with marked hepatic and/or renal impairment. During pregnancy and lactation, use only under veterinary supervision after weighing expected benefit against risk.

Special precautions

The prepared solution must be used within 20 minutes. Do not mix with aminoglycoside antibiotics, dextrose, dextran or sodium bicarbonate solutions, blood products, protein hydrolysates or intravenous lipid emulsions.

Shelf life

Shelf life in unopened packaging — 3 years from the date of manufacture. Store in the manufacturer's packaging, protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed, at a temperature from +2 °C to +25 °C.
